ABOUT US
Duke grew up in Oregon, immersed in rodeo and ranch life from an early age. His passion for calf roping led him to compete through college and into the amateur and professional rodeo circuits. After gaining valuable experience under respected trainers like Kurt Pilman and Bryan Conners, Duke relocated to Texas in 2010 to further pursue his passion for cow horses.
In 2011, he began assisting fellow trainer Brad Jewett at a shared facility — a mentorship that lasted five years and played a pivotal role in shaping Duke’s all-around training program. By 2015, he launched Duke Williams Performance Horses, focusing on developing versatile, competitive horses for the AQHA all-around events.
Alyssa, originally from Connecticut, was drawn to horses from a young age. She began riding at seven and soon found her place in the show ring. Her dedication and talent led her to the AQHA circuit, where she knew she’d found her calling. Alyssa honed her skills under top names in the industry, including Jason English, Tommy Sheets, and Bruce Vickery.
In 2017, she met Duke. After a year of long-distance dating — and a shared vision for horsemanship — Alyssa joined DWPH, bringing her show-ring experience, eye for detail, and passion for coaching riders to the team.
